So, as I ready myself for the Bataan Death March Weekend (although, really, I will probably set up the camp and then disappear back home for the day because A Whole 'Nother Faire needs my attention) I did peek into my drafts folder and find some links I'd marked out to share.

Oh, Fountaingirl...I know this isn’t what you teach, but suspect you’ll find it side-splitting nonetheless -- college writing assignments that would actually come in handy in real life:

Fair warning – this is like a punch in the heart. But if you’re feeling overwhelmed or disappointed because your life didn’t turn out as planned, here’s a powerfully written post. I love her style of writing and I feel that from time to time I need to remind myself that my problems and my sacrifices are small beer, really:

To re-boot after that last post, here’s a little humor – if you’ve ever looked at pictures in a catalog and thought, yeah, like anybody lives in a room like that...well, Gary and Elaine do...

Goodish news on the Impending Cold forefront -- the talismans of sleep and fluids seem to be keeping it at bay. I feel still at that vulnerable stage -- like not enough sleep or a thundercloud of additional stress and my ramparts could fail. But. I may just make it through without becoming Mary, Queen of Snots.

i wanted to stop reading the second link. it was hard going. but i couldn't stop. that's a whole lot of punches going on. i also like her writing style and her tenacity. "ten men and satan." what a mantra.

i think i gotta try some of those college writing exercises now. after all, i have a literature degree.
