On the way to and from Great Lakes [Jul. 31st, 2007|11:07 am]

On the way out, passed a church who's message board read "Summer's Here. Are You?" Well, duh. Could I be reading the sign if I weren't here? And what the hell does summer being here have to do with Church? If you're going to be cute, be clever. Because heaven knows, we've got enough stupid cute...

I was greatly amused on the home from Great Lakes to see a Dairy Mart with message board that read "Summer's Here. And so are you." Reaffirming my secret belief that there is more sense in soft-serve ice cream than in churches. I considered it my duty to reward them with my business and had a twist cone with sprinkles...

Soft serve twist with sprinkles is very Lutheran. I think Methodist is plain vanilla on a non-sugar cone. Episocopalians get the milkshake.

Baptists just get a Coke while telling you that a cone will spoil your dinner.

...and that you're going straight to hell for arguing about it.

My Lutheran must have triumphed over my Congregationalist and Episcopalianism that day (yeah, I'm just a big ol' Protestant 57) because I wanted chocolate sprinkles and all they had was rainbow.

Which I indulged in...but felt bad because it was so....flashy.
