|How many metro bus drivers....

So this morning I'm skimming the paper and I see that a metrobus rolled down the road and crashed into an apartment building. Right into someone's apartment. My first thought was "wow, I'm sort of surprised that's never happened to me"...which frankly, is always my first thought when I see that fate has been unkind to someone, depositing a bus in someone's dining room. |
My second thought was "what the..." So, his rear door was malfunctioning, so I guess (and this is hearsay, because in the fine tradition of American Journalism, why give people the complete story...or in the fine tradition of "say nothing for fear of a lawsuit later" citizenry...the important details are left out -- one's I want to know. Sure the article says the engine was off. Was it in park? The parking brake on? Oh, dude, I'm sorry to laugh at you, but...
The article did say that the driver was undergoing a drug and alcohol test. Um, do you have a stupid-test?
(In case you think I'm cruel -- don't think for a moment that I'm just glad that all of my stupids have involved much smaller scales of physical and financial disaster...it's nervous, at least I dodged THAT bullet by choosing not to be a bus driver kinda laughter.)
