Have fun with this one: A man was caught trying to smuggle lobsters out of a conservation area. Live lobsters. In his pants. |
I'm in the supermarket and see the Tabloid headline: Jennifer Aniston's friends say she's had lipo! Umm, I know that Facebook and MySpace and LJ have sort of corrupted the meaning of "Friend" and maybe we should be covering this in middle school now...children, let's review. "Friend" actually implies a certain amount of trust, a certain basis for a relationship that goes beyond just knowing someone, or being allowed access to their page...Friends don't tell tabloids about your fat reduction surgery.
Anyone else find it ironic that I had to get a job that allows me to sit down while I work, so that the failing knee could be coddled and now I've hurt myself in such a way that sitting down is bad for me? (Note to Alanis Morrissette: THAT'S ironic. A black fly in your Chardonnay just sucks.)
Saw the movie Saved! the other night. Is it a great movie? No. Did I enjoy the hell out of it? Yes. For those of us who were part of the "out" crowd in high school, a little trip down memory lane. And trashing the Holier than Thou, I love that -- maybe I was drunk, but when Hillary Fay screeches "I am FILLED with Jesus love" and beans her classmate with a bible, that's just funny as hell. Those of you who are NOT athiests, no worries, it's very respectful about genuine faith, just skewers unquestioning dogma-swallowing.
Thumbs up to Trader Joe's: I normally do not DO pre-marinated, pre-seasoned meat. It's filled with all sorts of crap I'd never put on my food, way too salty, etc. But the ingredient list on the boneless lamb roast looked reasonable and I was in the market for easy-to-fix dinners this week because I just need a freaking break and I have to cook for a chili cook-off at work. It was pretty damn good. For something I just had to take out of the bag and put in the oven, it was pretty awesome. Not as awesome as from scratch...but effortless.
Also, if you haven't had the two different kinds of ice cream sandwiches they have right now -- the vanilla and cookie one with the mini chocolate chips around the edges....awesome! And even cuter, they have mint chocolate ones that are the size of oreos, but it's chocolate cookies filled with mint chip ice cream. Delicious, plus everyone knows that bite-sized food has no calories. My only criticism is that they need to make it harder to access all of them at once.
Not that I ate them ALL at once. I took a break and then went back.
