Put down that bag of Sheep Balancer! [Dec. 5th, 2008|01:18 pm]
terribleturnip
This stuff is just writing itself today. Here I thought I would have to pull from my archived notes...but I keep getting news items that are just funny without trying.

I just got a recall on Land O Lakes Sheep Balancer B136 for unacceptably high levels of copper.

D'you suppose they could throw their marketing department on that and get a better name? If Purina's got Sheep Chow, surely Land O Lakes can come up with something better than "Sheep Balancer B136". Is that for food good for all sheep, or just for feeding sheep who tend to list?

Somewhere in the South Island of New Zealand, there's a pasture where all the sheep graze in circles.

It's pretty common to put veterinary medicine into feeds. I think Sheep Balancer probably contains Prozac, for those hard-to-manage bipolar sheep.

Easily distracted and more easily amused, I couldn't rest until I'd visited the Land O' Lakes Livestock Feed website. You think Sheep Balancer is weird, you should check out the patented Ampli-Calf (tm) technology.

I am imagining a herd of sheep constantly tipping onto their sides as their inner ears revolt.

Like self-tipping cows? There's not enough to do on weeknights in Indiana now.

And what better time to bring up the ever-popular topic of fainting goats?
