Were we mentioning the depths of my crabby fury? [Feb. 26th, 2010|05:01 pm]
I decided on the way back from walking the dog that I am annoyed with the letters "H" and "W".

They're the only letters that don't make their sound when you start them. That's just dumb.

I had been wondering why I almost stammer when I say one of our biggest client's names. It's because their name begins with three letters, then a word. Sort of like H.R. Pufinstuff. And I struggle with that first letter. Because I want to say Haitch. Because it's an "H"...which shouldn't need "an" because it's a freaking CONSONANT.

Don't even get me started on "W"....

(C'mon, how many of you read that subject line as furry crab? Fess up! Just me? Damn it, one more thing to be crabby about....)

I sure hope the Captain takes you out for a nice dinner with lots of rum, and chocolate for dessert.

'Haitch' is fine - I learned to say it that way when I was in Scotland.

I will be erasing those Sesame Street episodes (H,W) from my TIVO.
